A Little Magic in the Middle of the Mall
Spring is one of those seasons that people genuinely want to feel. After months of grey skies and heavy coats, there’s a collective exhale when the warmth and colour start creeping back in. That energy is contagious, and if you know how to channel it into an experience, it becomes something truly powerful.
In March 2026, TEA did exactly that at CF Carrefour Laval. They built a spring activation that stopped shoppers mid-stride, pulled them in with the scent of cotton candy and the sight of 10-foot yellow rainboots, and gave them something they certainly weren’t expecting to find on a weekend visit to the mall.

How TEA Designed the Carrefour Laval Spring Activation
Every element of this Montreal-area activation was designed with intention. The space needed to feel cohesive and brand-aligned while still inviting the kind of spontaneous, joyful engagement that makes people reach for their phones and stay longer than they planned.
Here is a closer look at what brought it all together.
Oversized 10-Foot Rainboots Photo Opportunity
Big, bright, and impossible to miss, the oversized rainboots photo opportunity was designed to be bold, fun and shareable. Guests of all ages posed, jumped in, and brought their friends over. It created a natural content moment that extended the activation’s reach far beyond the mall and into social feeds across the region.

Cloud Chaser Experience
Some activations are designed to be seen. This one was designed to be explored.
The Cloud Chaser experience turned guests of all ages into official cloud chasers for the day. Eight cloud shapes were hidden across center court and the garden, each carrying a letter that formed part of a secret word. Guests had to find them, decipher the clues, and use their imagination to solve each cloud shape.
More than a scavenger hunt, it was a full sensory journey through the garden. Guests were invited to slow down, listen to the birds, feel the rain fall, and experience a storm pass through. All brought to life beneath a canopy of umbrellas and clouds. The kind of moment that gets kids fully absorbed and quietly reminds adults what it feels like to just play.
Plinko Game
The Plinko board was a crowd magnet from the moment the activation opened, drawing in kids, parents, and curious shoppers who just wanted to see where the chip would land. Nostalgic, approachable, and genuinely fun, people gathered around it, cheered each other on, and the energy built on its own.
Wildflower Seed Bar
The wildflower seed bar let guests pick out seeds to take home and plant. It was a simple, spring-appropriate gifting moment that gave people something to walk away with beyond a branded bag. Thoughtful without being over the top, and quietly memorable.
Cotton Candy Station
Because no spring celebration is complete without something sweet. The cotton candy station added a sensory layer to the activation, filling the space with that unmistakable scent that got kids excited and took parents back to their childhood if only for a few minutes.
A Spring Moment That Delivered Real Results
When we see 3,000 people move through a space we built from scratch and leave smiling, that is exactly the feeling we do this for. But guests did not just pass through. They participated. They played, created content, connected with one another, and left with something to bring home. TEA’s trained brand ambassadors guided every interaction, keeping the energy high and the experience consistent from the first hour to the last.
The activation elevated the shopping experience for Carrefour Laval visitors, reinforcing the mall’s role as a destination for more than just retail.
